CENTRA meeting on Cyberinfrastructure, Tools and Modeling for Biodiversity and Smart Museum

26 March ~ 1 April 2017

Taichung, Keelung-Taipei and Checheng, Pingtung Co., Taiwan

Purpose and Goals

The purpose of the meetings is to explore collaborative opportunities in the area of the Taiwan ‘Smart Museum’ initiative which uses sensor networks and analytical software to instrument displays at the museums.  In this computational context, we plan to explore possible roles for collaboratively extending and deploying Lifemapper modelling software for interactive exhibits centered on public understanding of Taiwan’s native species. We aim to identify potential workflows after learning specific meta data requirement, sensor network and display integration systems existing in the two science museums in Taiwan – National Museum of Nature Sciene, National Museum of Marine Biology and Aquarium (NMMBA) and National Museum of Marine Science and Technology (NMMST). Then explore the possibility of scaling the application to multiple Smart Museums initiatives in the CENTRA network.
