Overview
The continuing growth of the IT industry in East and Southeast Asia has had an immense impact not only the regional but the global economy as well. IT is by nature collaborative. The "Southeast Asia International Joint Research and Collaboration Program in High-Performance Computing Applications and Networking Technology" is an effort supported by Taiwan's National Science Council (NSC) to share and to disseminate current IT developments in High-Performance Computing and Networking within the region. The meeting will include seminars and discussions on Grid technology and its applications, sensor networks, advanced visualization, and optical research network. Future collaborations will also be discussed.
Announcement
National Center for High-Performance Computing (NCHC) of National Applied Research Laboratories of Taiwan provides an opportunity for researchers to participate 2010 Southeast Asia International Program (SEAIP) ''The Emerging IT Infrastructure for Exa-flood of Science Data'' for Joint Research and Training courses, which is dedicated specifically to high-performance computing application and network technology. The program provides one week training courses in Dec. 6 to Dec. 10, 2010 at NCHC, which allow participants to get hold of the most recent development in high-performance computing and networking.
In order to provide better focus of the program the training courses are jointly collocated with The Institute of Pacific Rim Applications and HPC Middleware Assembly (PRAGMA), or PRAGMA Institute in short, in which the leaderships of PRAGMA working groups, such as HPC resources, Bioscience, Geoscience and Telescience, will be present and providing their insight of recent development in the respective HPC-related applications.
In this meeting we will focus on the issues that relates to ''The Emerging IT Infrastructure for Exa-flood of Science Data'', which includes system design and development, and scientific application drivers.
